Everything worked fine for me but a friend had issues.
Make sure you have all the latest windows updates and drivers.
Make sure you have Xbox Games app from Microsoft store installed and logged in.
If you have installed the game before doing this, unninstall and repeat the process (using the GDK_Helper.bat file)
Should work after that.

Before my friend installed xbox games he had an error about "xgameruntime.dll". After we installed xbox games app that error would not show up anymore, but it wouldn't launch. We repeated the process of installing and registering the game and it worked after that :)

im getting this error when trying to perform step 4 Folder path not found. Please ensure your source folder exists: A:\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\appxmanifest.xml
MicrosoftGame.Config registration failed.
Failed with 0x80070003.

There is a new update yes, to version v100.17.22308.0.
You won't be able to play unless it's with people with the same version (v100.17.18697.0).
There is still no online-fix update. we need to wait.

Yes you can, however on the 31st of August there was an update, so at the moment we can only play online against each other (we're on version v100.17.18697.0)
We need to wait for a new update.

Highly doubt that that would happen considering that you're logging into XBOX services and not steam.

At beast (or rather, at worst) your XBOX ID could be banned I guess.
